Bengal Windsor Thermoplastics fiscal Q4 profit falls YOY

Bengal Windsor Thermoplastics Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended June 30 was 20 poisha per share, a decline of 66.2% from 58 poisha per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 17.9 million taka, a decline of 66.2% from 52.9 million taka in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 10.3% from 23.6% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue fell 22.4% on an annual basis to 174.0 million taka from 224.3 million taka, and total operating expenses declined on an annual basis to 126.5 million taka from 133.0 million taka.

Reported net income decreased 94.4% on an annual basis to 4.6 million taka, or 5 poisha per share, from 82.6 million taka, or 90 poisha per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 1.68 taka per share, an increase from 1.63 taka per share in the prior year.

Normalized net income was 154.0 million taka, a rise from 149.0 million taka in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue grew on an annual basis to 942.0 million taka from 920.4 million taka, and total operating expenses totaled 660.3 million taka, compared with 666.5 million taka in the year-earlier period.

The company said reported net income fell 15.5% year over year to 194.4 million taka, or 2.13 taka per share, in the full year, from 230.2 million taka, or 2.52 taka per share.

As of Nov. 20, US$1 was equivalent to 77.48 taka.
