Atmos Energy to sell $800M of senior notes

Atmos Energy Corp. entered into an underwriting agreement on Sept. 25 to sell $300 million of its 2.625% senior notes due 2029 and $500 million of its 3.375% senior notes due 2049.

The 2029 notes and 2049 notes have an effective yield to maturity of 2.707% and 3.426%, respectively, after fees and discounts, according to an Oct. 2 SEC filing. The company expected to receive proceeds, after related discounts and expenses, of approximately $792 million. Atmos Energy is the largest gas-only distributor in the U.S. It delivers energy to more than 3 million distribution customers.

Credit Agricole Securities (USA) Inc., J.P. Morgan Securities LLC, TD Securities (USA) LLC and Wells Fargo Securities LLC acted as the underwriters' representatives for the offering, which is scheduled to close on or about Oct. 2.
