Provident Financial Services ups dividend by 1 cent

The board of Provident Financial Services Inc. declared a quarterlycash dividend of 18 cents per common share, according to an April 29 newsrelease.

The dividend is payable May 31 to stockholders ofrecord as of May 13. It represents an increase of 5.9% from the of 17 centsper common share.

The company said that net income for the first quarterwas $21.0 million, or 33 cents per share. It was $19.8 million, or 32 cents pershare, a year ago.
