Ventnor Resources Ltd. said Oct. 12 that it secured a new silica sand project at Arrowsmith, which is 270 kilometers north of Perth, Western Australia.
In the June quarter, the company applied for three exploration licenses, totaling 358 square kilometers, to explore for construction sand and high-quality silica sand.
Exploration targets are expected to hold 100 million tonnes to 140 million tonnes high-quality silica sand at Arrowsmith North, and 40 million tonnes to 80 million tonnes high-quality silica sand at Arrowsmith South.
The company is conducting a mineralogical analysis at the project and plans to undertake a deeper hand-auger program in the next few months.
Additionally, an aircore drilling program will be conducted in early 2018 to determine the extent of the dune system and the variability of the grade after the tenements are granted.
