's Warner Bros. and RatPacEntertainment have joined forces to expand their investments in with the launch of a new film fund, The HollywoodReporter reported April 27, citing director turned movie mogul Brett Ratner.
The fund willfocus exclusively on Chinese language content for the country's flourishing filmmarket. Ratner and Li Ruigang, former head of Shanghai Media Group and head of state-backedinvestment group China Media Capital, are looking to produce Hollywood style movieswith Chinese cultural stories.
RatPac reportedlyhas a standing arrangement with Warner Bros. to co-finance almost every film inthe studio's slate, as well as an existing investment in China. In 2013, RatPacand Time Warner became co-investors in China Media Capital.
