Minotaur, Oz Minerals to discontinue exploring Prominent Hill mine area

Minotaur Exploration Ltd. and OZ Minerals Ltd. made a mutual decision to discontinue exploration work in the vicinity of OZ Minerals' Prominent Hill copper mine in South Australia.

The decision resulted from a review of the trial phase of the companies' collaboration in the area, according to the Feb. 8 statement.

In October 2017, the partners committed to a new drill push just 22 kilometers from Prominent Hill, planning a 1,225-meter, four-hole drill program designed to test four shallow targets. The companies concluded that regional prospects for shallow copper mineralization are limited.
