Uoki Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Aug. 31 amounted to a loss of ¥4.41 per share, compared with a loss of 60 sen per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥11.3 million, compared with a loss of ¥13.8 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin increased to negative 0.3% from negative 0.4% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue fell on an annual basis to ¥3.22 billion from ¥3.30 billion, and total operating expenses declined from the prior-year period to ¥3.24 billion from ¥3.32 billion.
Reported net income came to a loss of ¥31.0 million, or a loss of ¥12.14 per share, compared to a loss of ¥38.0 million, or a loss of ¥1.65 per share, in the year-earlier period.
As of Oct. 15, US$1 was equivalent to ¥106.21.
