Canada's CTT Pharmaceuticals appoints president

Canada's CTT Pharmaceutical Holdings Inc. appointed Cam Birge as president.

Birge, who also joins the medical technology company's board, replaces Pankaj Modi as president. Modi will remain the company's CEO, chief science officer and director.

"Birge arranged for and negotiated the recently announced partnership with Aurora Cannabis on behalf of CTT and its shareholders," Modi said in a statement.

In May, Aurora Cannabis said it was acquiring an initial 9.14% stake in the company.

Birge has over two decades of experience advising and working with public and private companies in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico, CTT Pharmaceutical said. Birge said he would work to expand CTT Pharmaceutical's patent portfolio and position the company for future growth.

CTT Pharmaceutical's principal asset is a drug delivery technology which helps oral medicines dissolve without water and within a few seconds after placement.
