Warburg Pincus fund closes at $2.3B

Warburg Pincus LLC has raised about $2.3 billion for its Warburg Pincus Financial Sector LP fund at close.

The fund, launched in June with a target of $1.6 billion, is a companion fund to Warburg Pincus XII LP, a $13.4 billion private equity fund that closed in 2015.

The Warburg Pincus Financial Sector fund will invest in financial services opportunities sourced through the firm's global investment platform.
