General Electric names new CFO

General Electric Co. appointed Jamie Miller as its new CFO effective Nov. 1, replacing Jeffrey Bornstein, who will leave the company Dec. 31.

Miller, who joined GE in 2008, is the CEO of GE Transportation.

GE also announced that vice chairs Beth Comstock and John Rice will retire from the company effective Dec. 31.

Comstock leads GE Business Innovations while Rice runs GE's Global Growth Organization unit.
