Indo-Malay fiscal Q4 profit falls YOY

4910491 said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 was 79 Sri Lankan cents per share, a decrease of 67.0% from 2.38 rupees per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 5.5 million rupees, a decline of 67.1% from 16.7 million rupees in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 19.7% from 37.2% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue fell 37.8% on an annual basis to 27.9 million rupees from 44.9 million rupees, and total operating expenses rose 8.9% from the prior-year period to 19.9 million rupees from 18.3 million rupees.

Reported net income came to a loss of 5.3 million rupees, or a loss of 76 cents per share, compared to income of 25.1 million rupees, or 3.59 rupees per share, in the year-earlier period.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 6.08 rupees per share, a decrease of 64.5% from 17.10 rupees per share in the prior year.

Normalized net income was 42.5 million rupees, a decline of 64.5% from 119.7 million rupees in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue decreased 47.1% from the prior-year period to 143.1 million rupees from 270.6 million rupees, and total operating expenses fell year over year to 75.3 million rupees from 79.3 million rupees.
