Director moves through Dec. 9

S&P Global Market Intelligence presents a weekly rundown of recent board changes in the metals and mining industry. The moves are listed in chronological order.

Dec. 5

Jonathan Shellabear was appointed as a nonexecutive director of Capricorn Metals Ltd., effective immediately. Shellabear was the managing director and CEO of Dominion Mining Ltd., which was acquired by Kingsgate Consolidated Ltd. in 2011.

Bligh Resources Ltd. director Tianbao Wang stepped down from the company's board, while Patrick Burke was named as a nonexecutive director. Burke also serves as a director of Triton Minerals Ltd. and Uranium Resources Inc.

Neil Grimes was added to the board of Rizal Resources Corp. as a new director.

Dec. 6

Wollongong Coal Ltd. CEO Milind Oza was appointed as a director of the company to replace Azad Bhura as Jindal Steel & Power (Mauritius) Ltd.'s nominee to Wollongong Coal's board. Bhura resigned as a director of Wollongong Coal, effective Dec. 5, for personal reasons.

Rui Zhang agreed to join the board of MGT Resources Ltd. as a nonexecutive director.

Teranga Gold Corp. Chairman Alan Hill was named as a director of NuLegacy Gold Corp. as Richard Wells stepped down from NuLegacy's board.

Pablo Marcet was appointed as a new director of Barrick Gold Corp. Marcet is also a director of U3O8 Corp.

ZCCM Investments Holdings Plc added Teddy Mulonga to its board as a nonexecutive director, representing Zambia's National Pension Scheme Authority, which owns 15% of the company.

Dec. 7

THEMAC Resources Group Ltd. director Kenneth Pickering resigned from the company's board.

Dec. 8

Peter Jones and David Palmer were named as directors of Rubicon Minerals Corp. Jones is also a director of Mandalay Resources Corp. and Victory Nickel Inc., while Palmer is the president and CEO of Probe Metals Inc.

Alfredo Sillau joined the board of Fortuna Silver Mines Inc. as a new director.

Krzysztof Szymczak resigned as a director of Weatherly International Plc. Szymczak was Logiman CC's representative to Weatherly's board, and his resignation came after Logiman's stakes in the miner fell below 10%.

Lions Gate Metals Inc. director Peter Born stepped down from the miner's board to dedicate more time to other endeavors. Subsequently, Cale Moodie was named as an independent director of the company.

West Isle Ventures Ltd. CEO Jeffrey Cocks was appointed as a director of Victory Ventures Inc.

Dec. 9

David Fawcett agreed to join the board of Allegiance Coal Ltd. as a nonexecutive director. Fawcett is a former nonexecutive chairman of Jameson Resources Ltd.

Nautilus Minerals Inc. director Cynthia Thomas resigned from the company's board, effective Dec. 7.
