Viacom unit grabs rights to Channel 5's production arm

ViacomInternational Media Networks has taken over the distribution rightsto programs by Channel 5(UK)'s in-house production arm 5Production, TBI Vision reported March 31.

The ViacomInc. unit grabbed the rights from independent content distributorDRG, which will retain the rights to previous shows by the Britishbroadcaster.

Included in the deal are new titles like "TattooDisasters," "Lip Sync Battle UK," "Tribal Teens" and "Heiststhat Shook the World."

The move is reportedly part of efforts to integrate Channel5 into VIMN.

Viacom acquiredChannel 5 in 2014 from Northern & Shell Media Group.
