Poplar Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Nov. 30, 2014, amounted to a loss of ¥19.81 per share, compared with a loss of ¥21.20 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥196.3 million, compared with a loss of ¥210.0 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin fell to negative 1.6% from negative 1.5% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue declined 10.5% year over year to ¥12.24 billion from ¥13.68 billion, and total operating expenses fell 10.4% from the prior-year period to ¥12.55 billion from ¥14.02 billion.
Reported net income totaled a loss of ¥416.0 million, or a loss of ¥42.00 per share, compared to a loss of ¥1.14 billion, or a loss of ¥115.39 per share, in the year-earlier period.
As of Jan. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥116.84.
