Desert Lion expects phase 1 plant at Namibian lithium project to cost C$7M

Desert Lion Energy Inc. expects the development of its phase one flotation plant, with a capacity to process 350,000 to 400,000 tonnes of feed per year, to cost about C$7 million, it said May 16.

The plant will process fines from the historic stockpiles at the Rubicon and Helikon lithium mines in Namibia. For the plan's second phase, the company will start large-scale mining and concentrate production from in-situ material to produce 250,000 to 300,000 tonnes per year of concentrate.

The third phase includes production of 25,000 tonnes per year of lithium carbonate in Walvis Bay, Namibia.

Desert Lion's shares started trading on the OTCQB in the U.S. under the ticker DSLEF on May 11.
