Insurance moves: PURE Group names president of field operations

Legal & General Group PLC promoted Simon Hird to head of broker and intermediary, Insurance Age reported.

He previously served as head of intermediary and handled the broker and affinity team.

Carol Hughes, who was head of regional broker, was promoted to head of broker.

Sarah Watts was named head of intermediary. She will be managing the company's field-based team.


Ehsan Malik left the board of Pakistan-based IGI Life Insurance Ltd.

Mortgage guaranty

Mortgage Guaranty Insurance Corp. named Michael Jacobson vice president of corporate development.

Jacobson will lead the development of mortgage credit enhancement solutions. He used to work at Milliman Inc. of Brookfield, Wis., as principal and financial consultant in the its credit risk practice.

Mortgage Guaranty Insurance is the principal subsidiary of MGIC Investment Corp.


Starr Insurance Cos. named Santiago Mora head of international accident and health.

He will be responsible for the division's growth outside the U.S. and Canada.

Starr Insurance Cos. is a marketing name for the operating insurance and travel assistance companies and subsidiaries of Starr International Co. Inc.

Property and casualty

Baldwin & Lyons Inc. Director Kenneth Sacks resigned from his post.


Appleton, Wis.-based Integrity Insurance appointed Bobbie Collies vice president of sales and marketing.

She was most recently director of marketing at SECURA Insurance Cos.


The PURE Group of Insurance Cos. promoted Mark Galante to president of field operations.

He will oversee the execution of strategies, focusing on business development and underwriting.

Lindsay Holden will take Galante's previous position as president of Eastern Zone. She will oversee PURE's business operations from Maine to Virginia. She previously served as senior vice president and regional executive for New England.

PURE includes Privilege Underwriters Reciprocal Exchange, a policyholder-owned property and casualty insurer designed for high-net-worth individuals and families.
