Production at OZ Minerals Ltd.'s Prominent Hill copper-gold mine has been suspended due to electricity supply disruptions related to ongoing severe storms in South Australia, the company said Sept. 29.
The company is running all essential services at the mine on power generators.
The ASX-listed company does not know when the power will be restored to the mine site, as the suppliers are evaluating the scale of damage to the transmission lines, but will update the market when the storm subsides and services are fully restored.
In July, the company announced that despite losing about 10% of plant availability at Prominent Hill during the second quarter due to planned and unplanned repairs, it remains on track to meet its full-year production guidance.
