ANZ raises A$1.62B in AT1 offering

Australia& New Zealand Banking Group Ltd. raised A$1.62 billion ofAdditional Tier 1 capital in a note offering.

Under upsized offering, the bank issued 16.22 million notesfor A$100 each. The offering included about A$900 million of reinvested capital raised from existinginvestors.

ANZ said it completed the buyback and cancelation ofreinvested shares Sept. 27, according to a same day release.

The new notes are expected to commence trading onAustralia's stock exchange on a deferred settlement basis Sept. 28. Trading isexpected to commence on a normal settlement basis Oct. 5.

As of Sept. 26, US$1was equivalent to A$1.31.
