Wal-Mart Stores Inc. will market products on BuzzFeed Inc.'s recipe app Tasty from Dec. 7.
The retail giant said recipe videos on Tasty will include links to buy featured kitchenware such as pots and pans on Walmart.com and Wal-Mart-owned Jet.com. Links to ingredients are expected to be added to the videos in the coming months.
The partnership will allow Wal-Mart to tap into the app's popularity; it has about 90 million followers on Facebook and its recipe videos have had more than 65 billion views.
Wal-Mart and Tasty have been in talks about the partnership for months, Business Insider reported Dec. 7, citing Sumaiya Balbale, Wal-Mart's vice president of e-commerce, mobile and digital marketing.
The deal marks the first time Wal-Mart and Jet.com are working together with a media outlet, the report added.
