United Technologies Corp. appointed Christopher Kearney executive chairman of Otis Elevator Co., which is due to separate from UTC in 2020.

Kearney is a member of the United Technologies board.

The company also announced members of a new Otis board, which becomes effective upon the completion of Otis' separation.

Otis President and CEO Judy Marks and United Technologies Director Terry McGraw will join the board, which will also include independent directors Jeffrey Black, Kathy Hopinkah Hannan, Shailesh Jejurikar, Margaret Preston, Shelley Stewart Jr. and John Walker.
