Stakeholder Gold expands land position at Ballarat, names CFO

Stakeholder Gold Corp. increased the size of its Ballarat gold project in Canada's Yukon Territory after staking an additional 168 claims surrounding the property.

About 146 of the claims are located south of the property, while the remaining 22 are located north, the company said in a Dec. 14 release.

Stakeholder Gold, meanwhile, announced the results from 18 holes of a planned 30-hole drill program completed on the Eastern zone of the project. The program totaled just over 1,728 meters, with all but two holes reaching depths of 100 meters.

Several holes intersected isolated zones that ran up to 1.5 g/t of gold in single samples, the company said. These results will be assessed further over the winter months to develop a strategy for 2017.

Meanwhile, the company noted that it appointed Jaimie MacPherson as CFO, replacing Robert Lelovic, who will resign effective immediately.
