Capital One to shut down personal finance app

Level Money, McLean, Va.-based Capital One Financial Corp.'s personal finance application, will shut down Sept. 1.

According to Level Money's website, when the mobile money management app was started in 2013, "there weren't many tools to help people manage their money," but the financial industry has changed and there are currently "a plethora of tools" for money management.

Capital One acquired Level Money in 2015.
