Meliá Hotels to reopen Hurricane Irma-affected sites in Cuba

Meliá Hotels International SA is reopening its hotels in Cuba that were hit by Hurricane Irma in Cayo Santa María, Cayo Coco, Cayo Guillermo and Varadero.

The company said improvements were made at the hotels during the temporary closures.

In Varadero, the Meliá Peninsula Varadero and Paradisus Varadero hotels reopened Oct. 15. The Meliá Cayo Santa María and Meliá Las Dunas hotels in Cayo Santa Maria will be back up and running Nov. 1, while the Meliá Buenavista and Sol Cayo Santa María hotels will resume operations Nov. 15.

In Jardines del Rey, the Sol Cayo Coco hotel restarted operations Oct. 17, the Meliá Cayo Guillermo hotel will reopen Oct. 20 and the Meliá Jardines del Rey on Nov. 1. Meliá Cayo Coco and Sol Cayo Guillermo will resume operations Nov. 4 and Nov. 15, respectively.
