Denham Capital pumps US$65M into Canadian silver-lead-zinc mine

Resources equity firm Denham Capital has agreed to inject US$65 million into Vancouver, Canada-based miner JDS Silver Inc., marking its first investment in the Canadian mining sector.

The cash will help JDS complete the construction of its Silvertip silver-lead-zinc mine in British Columbia and bring it into production.

According to a Sept. 27 statement, the 30% zinc-equivalent grade makes Silvertip one of the world's highest-grade zinc deposits.

JDS began construction in December 2015 and expects the mine to begin production in late September.
