Goldman Sachs Group Inc. invested US$250 million for the construction of a 1.2 million-square-foot office space in Bengaluru, India, with a view to consolidating its workforce in a single location, The Hindu reported, citing CEO and Chairman David Solomon.
The building, which will rise on a 22.5-acre land parcel, will be able to house 9,000 employees, according to the report.
The New York-based investment bank's staff of more than 5,000 is working in six buildings across Bengaluru, the report noted.
