Bentoel Internasional Investama Q4 loss widens 54.9% YOY

PT Bentoel Internasional Investama Tbk said its fourth-quarter normalized net income was a loss of 37.04 rupiah per share, compared with a loss of 23.91 rupiah per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of 268.16 billion rupiah, compared with a loss of 173.14 billion rupiah in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to negative 6.4% from negative 4.6% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 25.6% year over year to 4.698 trillion rupiah from 3.741 trillion rupiah, and total operating expenses increased 26.8% on an annual basis to 4.855 trillion rupiah from 3.829 trillion rupiah.

Reported net income totaled a loss of 470.00 billion rupiah, or a loss of 64.92 rupiah per share, compared to a loss of 1.204 trillion rupiah, or a loss of 166.27 rupiah per share, in the year-earlier period.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled a loss of 168.57 rupiah per share, compared with a loss of 142.15 rupiah per share in the prior year.

Normalized net income was a loss of 1.220 trillion rupiah, compared with a loss of 1.029 trillion rupiah in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue increased 16.0% on an annual basis to 16.814 trillion rupiah from 14.489 trillion rupiah, and total operating expenses rose 14.7% on an annual basis to 17.668 trillion rupiah from 15.403 trillion rupiah.

The company said reported net income totaled a loss of 1.639 trillion rupiah, or a loss of 226.32 rupiah per share, in the full year, compared with a loss of 2.251 trillion rupiah, or a loss of 310.96 rupiah per share, the prior year.

As of March 24, US$1 was equivalent to 13,295 rupiah.
