Apparel and industrial software and automation services provider Gerber Technology LLC bought Avametric Inc., an online platform that creates digital garments for brands, for an undisclosed amount.

The deal comes 12 months after Gerber announced that it would integrate Avametric's fabric simulation engine into its AccuMark 3D platform.

Tolland, Conn.-based Gerber is owned by American Industrial Partners, or AIP LLC, an operationally oriented middle-market private equity firm.
