NJR CleanEnergy Ventures has acquired the 6.3-MW Medicine Bow wind facility in Wyoming from aninvestor group comprising ClipperWindpower Plc and Gamesa Energy USA.
The New JerseyResources Corp. subsidiary acquired the Carbon County-basedfacility for an undisclosed sum.
Medicine Bow sells power to under a20-year contract. The facility has undergone an overhaul by Gamesa thatextended the service life of its turbines and enabled the project to qualifyfor federal production tax credits.
"With the acquisition of the Medicine Bow Wind Farm,onshore wind now accounts for more than half of our distributed powercapacity," New Jersey Resources Chairman and CEO Laurence Downes said in aSept. 29 statement.
Gamesa Energy is a Gamesa Corporación Tecnológica SA subsidiary.
