Banco de Costa Rica's interim CEO to stay

Douglas Soto Leitón will continue as Banco de Costa Rica's interim CEO until Jan. 15, 2019, or until a permanent replacement is named, the bank said in a filing.

The bank in July 2017 suspended its previous CEO, Mario Barrenechea Coto, for alleged irregularities in the bank's granting of large loans.

Soto was later appointed as interim CEO in February following the resignation of Barrenechea, who was arrested along with five other bank executives.
