EMC Insurance Group Inc.'s special committee has retained Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP as its legal counsel and Sandler O'Neill & Partners LP as its independent financial adviser.

The advisers will help the special committee evaluate the nonbinding indicative proposal from Employers Mutual Casualty Co. to acquire all of EMC Insurance's outstanding common shares. No decisions have been made regarding the proposal.
