FERC promoted David Morenoff to the position of general counsel, continuing a series of leadership changes at the regulatory agency.
Acting Chairman Cheryl LaFleur issued a public notice about the personnel change in a Feb. 2 announcement, only one day after other staff changes had been announced.
Morenoff was named general counsel, effective immediately, after Max Minzner announced his resignation from the position. Prior to his new position, Morenoff was deputy general counsel, and he had previously served as both acting general counsel and general counsel.
Minzner served as the commission's general counsel and as an adviser to Commissioner Norman Bay while Bay was chairman. The Office of the General Counsel is responsible for providing the commission and FERC staff with legal services, information and advice.
LaFleur announced in a Feb. 1 statement that Office of Energy Projects Director Ann Miles would be retiring, effective Feb. 18, to be replaced by Terry Turpin.
Bay is stepping down from his commission post Feb 3.
