CIMB Group Holdings Bhd. made new appointments in its management team to help drive the group to meet its strategic priorities for the period 2019 to 2023.
Ahmad Shahriman Mohd Shariff was appointed CEO of CIMB Islamic Bank Bhd. and CEO of group Islamic banking, effective Oct. 1. Shahriman headed various positions at several global financial institutions, covering global banking and markets, as well as Islamic banking.
Rafe Haneef, current CEO of CIMB Islamic Bank and group Islamic banking, will become CEO of group transaction banking, effective Oct. 1.
Victor Lee Meng Teck, current CEO of group commercial banking, will take on an additional role as country head for Singapore and CEO of CIMB Bank Singapore, effective Jan. 1, 2020. Teck will succeed Mak Lye Mun, who will retire from his current position as country head of Singapore and CEO of CIMB Bank Singapore on Dec. 31. Mak Lye Mun will remain in the group as an advisor to the group CEO, effective Jan. 1, 2020.
