ESPN to stream Monday Night Football on mobile phones

Walt Disney Co.'s majority-owned ESPN (US) struck a deal to let users stream Monday Night Football on mobile phones.

The expanded mobile rights deal with the National Football League also includes NFL highlights and extends through the duration of ESPN's existing NFL agreement, according to a Dec. 20 post on ESPN MediaZone. The deal will kick off with the NFL Wild Card weekend of Jan. 6, 2018, to Jan. 7, 2018, and Pro Bowl on Jan. 29, 2018.

ESPN will offer NFL highlights and stream Monday Night Football on an authenticated basis on ESPN-branded digital properties across all devices and platforms.

The deal comes as NBCUniversal Media LLC secured rights to stream Sunday Night Football through NBC (US) TV Everywhere offering on all mobile devices, starting with the 2018 season.
