Bangor, Maine-based Cross Insurance has acquired Sargent Tyler& West, an insurance agency based in the same city.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Cross Insurance will merge Sargent Tyler & West accountswith the former's headquarters office, said Alice Dyer, vice president of CrossFinancial Corp., the buyer's parent company.

The Sargent Tyler & West office in Bucksport, Maine, willcontinue to operate as a separate branch under manager Terry Grindle.
