SunPower wins contracts to build solar facilities in France

The government of France has granted 27 of the 33 awardsunder its tender program to supply the country's non-interconnected zones withrenewable energy and storage.

The awards include the supply of 20.7 MW of solar panels,and the development of five solar projects totaling 18.4 MW, with batterystorage, according to company release. All the projects are expected to goonline by mid-2019.

SunPower said it will build two 5-MW solar plants and a1.5-MW rooftop solar power system in Corsica in partnership with Corsica Sole.The company also will construct a 4-MW system at a refinery in Martinique and a3-MW system at a quarry in Guadeloupe.
