Dignity fiscal H2 profit falls YOY

Dignity PLC said its normalized net income for the fiscal second half ended Dec. 25, 2015, was 30 Great British pence per share, a gain of 9.0% from 28 pence per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was £15.0 million, a decrease from £15.6 million in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 8.0% year over year to £146.6 million from £135.8 million, and total operating expenses rose 12.2% from the prior-year period to £109.6 million from £97.7 million.

Reported net income came to £21.9 million, or 44 pence per share, compared to a loss of £79.2 million, or a loss of £1.40 per share, in the prior-year period.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 87 pence per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate of £1.07.

EPS rose 30.0% from 67 pence in the prior year.

Normalized net income was £43.1 million, a gain of 22.1% from £35.3 million in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue increased 13.5% year over year to £305.3 million from £268.9 million, and total operating expenses increased 13.0% year over year to £210.1 million from £186.0 million.

The company said reported net income came to £56.9 million, or £1.15 per share, in the full year, compared with a loss of £55.0 million, or a loss of £1.04 per share, the prior year.
