Swift Current building up to 200-MW wind project in Illinois

Boston-based Swift Current Energy is building a 175-MW to 200-MW wind project in Logan County, Illinois, according to a Feb. 2 company release.

After acquiring project rights from Relight Enterprises in late 2016, Swift Current renamed the Meridien wind project to HillTopper wind project. The wind farm is expected to achieve operation in late 2018.

Swift Current was launched in late 2016 to bring large-scale, 2016 production tax credit qualified renewable projects to the market.
