Obama nominates NCUA board member

President Barack Obama nominated John Herrera to the board ofthe National Credit Union Administration.

Herrera is the co-founder and chairman of Durham, N.C.-basedLatino Community Credit Union.He is also currently serving as the senior vice president of Latino and Hispanicaffairs at Durham, N.C.-based Self-HelpCredit Union.

Herrera must be confirmed by the Senate to take the position.If confirmed, his term would end April 10, 2021.
