Trump to nominate Fifth Third legal chief for top FDIC post

President Donald Trump intends to nominate Jelena McWilliams to serve as a board member of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. for the remainder of a six-year term expiring July 15, 2019, and as its chair for a term of five years, according to a White House statement.

McWilliams is chief legal officer at Fifth Third Bancorp.

FDIC Chairman Martin Gruenberg's term expires at the end of November. He has said he will continue to serve as chairman until a successor has been appointed and qualified.
