The European Union's budget commissioner, Guenther Oettinger, said he was unsure if Britain's negotiations regarding its exit from the bloc could begin on time after June 8 U.K. elections failed to elect a clear winner, Reuters said June 9.
Oettinger told German's Deutschlandfunk radio that a weak negotiating partner could result in bad outcomes for both sides.
Separately, German European Affairs Minister Michael Roth said "we should not waste any time," in talks, the newswire reported.
