Pia Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 was ¥15.04 per share, a gain from ¥2.12 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥212.1 million, an increase from ¥29.9 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin increased to 0.7% from 0.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue decreased on an annual basis to ¥31.32 billion from ¥31.96 billion, and total operating expenses fell year over year to ¥30.98 billion from ¥31.91 billion.
Reported net income rose year over year to ¥277.5 million, or ¥19.67 per share, from ¥4.0 million, or 28 sen per share.
As of Nov. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥116.46.
