Cayman Islands-based Greenlight Capital Re Ltd. has hired Simon Burton as CEO, effective July 1.

Burton will succeed interim CEO Leonard Goldberg, who will remain on the company's board. Burton will also join the board.

Burton was the CEO of S.A.C. Re Holdings until its sale to Hamilton Insurance Group in 2013.
