A.M. Best withdraws ratings on Century Casualty

A.M.Best has affirmed the B financial strength rating and "bb+" issuer creditrating of Century Casualty Co.

The outlookfor the financial strength rating remains stable, while the outlook for the issuercredit rating remains negative.

Concurrently, the rating agency withdrew the ratings as the company has requested to no longerparticipate in A.M. Best's interactive rating process.

A.M.Best said the ratings reflect deterioration of the company's underwriting results, with underwriting and operating losses reported in 2013 through 2015. The negativeoutlook for the issuer credit rating reflects A.M. Best's expectation of moderateunderwriting losses in the near term and challenges the company faces to improveunderwriting results.
