Time Warner Inc.'s Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema have settled a lawsuit over claims that "The Conjuring" and its sequels "The Conjuring 2" and "Annabelle" infringed exclusive rights, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
In 2016, author Gerald Brittle filed a lawsuit against Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema over claims that the production companies infringed his exclusive rights to produce works based on the case files of Ed and Lorraine Warren.
Brittle has agreed to dismiss the lawsuit after realizing that "filing this lawsuit was a mistake, and that New Line has no liability and did nothing wrong," according to a statement from Brittle and New Line quoted by the Dec. 13 report.
New Line is also resolving existing counter-claims against Brittle.
