Compass Group PLC said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended Sept. 30 came to 14 Great British pence per share, an increase from 13 pence per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was £226.8 million, a gain of 10.7% from £204.8 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 4.1% from 4.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 10.2% year over year to £5.55 billion from £5.03 billion, and total operating expenses grew 10.2% year over year to £5.16 billion from £4.69 billion.
Reported net income grew 11.0% year over year to £272.9 million, or 16 pence per share, from £245.9 million, or 16 pence per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 59 pence per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate of 73 pence.
EPS rose from 53 pence in the prior year.
Normalized net income was £964.4 million, an increase from £831.9 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue rose year over year to £22.57 billion from £19.61 billion, and total operating expenses grew on an annual basis to £20.95 billion from £18.21 billion.
The company said reported net income increased on an annual basis to £1.16 billion, or 71 pence per share, in the full year, from £992.5 million, or 63 pence per share.
