Amazon.comInc. said on April 27 that it plans to open two new fulfillmentcenters in New Jersey.
The fulfillment centers, located in Florence and Carteret,will create more than 2,000 full-time jobs in the state.
Amazon already has a fulfillment center in Carteret wheremore than 500 full-time associates are employed, with the expected opening ofthe 800,000 square-feet second fulfillment in Carteret, 1,500 more full-timejobs will be created. Moreover, the 600,000 square-foot fulfillment center inFlorence will create 500 more jobs once it opens.
Akash Chauhan, Amazon's vice president of North Americafulfillment operations, said that the expansion has to do with an increase incustomer demand.
