YouTubeInc. launched YouTube Go, a new app for offline video viewing, inIndia.
According to a Sept. 27 company blog post by the subsidiaryof Alphabet Inc.'sGoogle Inc., the appis designed to work with poor or no network connections as well as on lesspowerful mobile devices. It was developed through testing and feedback by usersin 15 cities across India.
YouTube Go allows users to preview videos before loadingthem on their devices, and choose a resolution based on the file size.
The app is currently being offered only in India, butYouTube said it will gradually be released to more users before a widespreadlaunch in early 2017.
