Tiger ResourcesLtd. is looking into the economic viability of producing cobalt at itsKipoi project inthe Democratic Republic of Congo.
The company said July 7 that it has commissioned a study by independentconsultant, Mintrex Pty. Ltd., which is expected to take three months to complete.
Tiger has a resource of 40,400 tonnes in the measured and indicatedcategory, and 5,600 tonnes of inferred cobalt across the Kipoi Central, Kipoi North,Kileba and Judeira deposits at its Kipoi project.
The company also defined additional cobalt resources at the nearbySase Central deposit of 5,000 tonnes in the indicated category and 1,000 tonnesof inferred cobalt.
Tiger currently producesabout 26,000 tonnes of copper cathode per year from the Kipoi project and is workingto increase the capacity to 32,500 tonnes per year.
