MicrosoftCorp. has created a group dedicated to artificial intelligence.
Called Microsoft AI and Research Group, the new group will bringtogether the software giant's research organization and more than 5,000computer scientists and engineers to work on the company's AI product efforts,the company said Sept. 29.
Harry Shum, a 20-year Microsoft veteran, will head the newgroup. The Microsoft AI and Research Group will include several ofthe company's engineering leaders and teams, including Information Platform,Cortana and Bing, and Ambient Computing and Robotics teams led by David Ku,Derrick Connell and Vijay Mital, respectively.
The news comes as tech giants, including Microsoft,joined forces to workon artificial intelligence technologies.
