Choice Hotels International Inc. aims to launch more than 30 new Comfort-branded hotels in Japan by 2033.

The lodging franchisor entered into a 10-year extension of its existing master franchising agreement with Choice Hotels Japan, the brand's exclusive franchisor in Japan since 2003, according to a release.

The first seven of the new Comfort hotels are slated to open over the next three years in Kyoto, Matsuyama, Nagoya and other prominent cities.
